Between August 8–10 we escaped the heat and traded our toy-covered apartments for white domes in the middle of nature, at The Grand Prestige Igloo in Buzău county. It was the four of us (with the usual luggage: two kids, a stroller that eats half the trunk, and a bottomless bag of snacks), plus my brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and their daughter Bell – almost the same age as Nora. Basically, the perfect gang: four parents trying to stay zen and three kids who have never heard of “silence.”
The stay – camping, but fancy
The igloos trick the kids into believing they’re sleeping in a tent, while parents enjoy the reality of proper beds, clean sheets, wooden floors, and mountain views. Inside it feels part “chic cabin,” part “temporary Mars colony.”
For the kids
In short? Paradise. A playground, endless grass to run around, hammocks, and even a campfire in the evening. Nora and Bell became inseparable, while Aris broke his own record for naps – in the stroller, on the terrace net, anywhere really. (Bonus for parents: nature-induced exhaustion = guaranteed early bedtime.)
The food – farm to table
Most of the menu comes straight from their own farm or nearby farms. Eggs, cheese, vegetables with actual flavor, tender meat – all fresh and cooked like it should be. Think countryside meals but with the presentation of a boutique guesthouse.
The vibe
Super chill. Adults got to talk and relax (at least during the rare miracle when all three kids were asleep at the same time). The rest of the time was spent swapping turns at the playground, strollers, swings, and rolling in the grass.
Verdict: The Grand Prestige Igloo is perfect for a family weekend getaway. Rustic and comfy at the same time, kids run wild, parents eat well, and screens stay off (mostly). We came back home with full bellies, happy memories, and a very clear plan: we’ll be back.

Între 8 și 10 august am fugit din caniculă și am schimbat apartamentele noastre pline de jucării împrăștiate cu domurile albe din mijlocul naturii, la The Grand Prestige Igloo, în județul Buzău. Am fost noi patru (cu bagajul clasic: doi copii, un cărucior care ocupă jumătate de portbagaj și nelipsita pungă cu gustări), plus cumnata, cumnatul și verișoara Bell – care e aproape de-o seamă cu Nora. Practic, gașca era completă: patru părinți zen (sau așa își propun mereu să fie) și trei copii care nu cunosc noțiunea de liniște.
Cazarea – cort, dar fancy
Igloo-urile sunt genul de cazare care îi păcălesc pe copii că dorm în cort, dar pe părinți îi conving că nu trebuie să-și sacrifice spatele pe o saltea subțire. Paturi mari, lenjerie curată, podea de lemn și o priveliște cu munți și brazi. În interior ai și aer de „cabana chic”, dar și senzația că te-ai mutat temporar pe Marte.
Cum a fost pentru copii
Pe scurt? Rai. Loc de joacă, spațiu verde cât să alerge în voie, hamace și chiar foc de tabără unde am prăjit ceva bun seara. Nora și Bell au fost de nedespărțit, iar Aris a bifat recorduri de somn în cărucior și pe plasa de relaxare de pe terasă. (Bonus pentru părinți: oboseala naturală garantată de aerul curat.)
Mâncarea – din grădină, pe masă
Meniul lor vine aproape integral din propria fermă sau de la fermele din apropiere. Ouă, brânzeturi, legume cu gust adevărat și carne fragedă. Se simțea că totul e făcut pe bune, nu „de poză”. Practic, am mâncat ca la țară, dar cu plating de pensiune premium.
Atmosfera
Foarte chill. Adulții au putut să stea la povești și să se bucure de liniște (atunci când copiii adormeau toți trei în același timp – o minune statistică rară). Restul timpului am împărțit joaca, cărucioarele, bălăceala în iarba umedă și turele la leagăne.
Verdict: The Grand Prestige Igloo e locul ideal pentru un weekend cu familia extinsă. E rustic și confortabil în același timp, copiii au libertate și distracții, iar părinții mănâncă bine și scapă de ecrane (aproape). Noi ne-am întors acasă liniștiți, cu poze frumoase și cu planul clar că trebuie să revenim.
👉 Recomandat pentru: familii cu copii mici, grupuri de prieteni sau oricine vrea să combine confortul cu natura.
